Overview
On July 24, 2026, the Southern California Regional Rail Authority Board of Directors extended its continuing resolution through December 31, 2026, while development of the fiscal year 2026-27 operating budget and service plan continues. The Southern California Regional Rail Authority has requested approximately $12 million from the Orange County Transportation Authority to support second-quarter operations. Consistent with Orange County Transportation Authority’s established $46 million annual funding level, this report seeks approval of up to $10.5 million for the second quarter.

Approve up to $10.5 million for the Orange County Transportation Authority’s fiscal year 2026-27 second-quarter contribution to the Southern California Regional Rail Authority operating subsidy, which, together with the $14.5 million previously approved for the first quarter, would establish a total authorized operating subsidy contribution of up to $25 million through December 31, 2026, contingent upon all other member agencies approving their respective operating subsidy contributions.
